The egg has long been a symbol of ‘fertility’, ‘rebirth’ and ‘the beginning’. In Egyptian mythology, the phoenix burns its nest to be reborn later from the egg that is left; Hindu scriptures relate that the world developed from an egg.

The world has shrunk, thanks to telecommunications but it is still, luckily, a wonderful quilt of traditions and culture. So here it is Christmas, as in many other places, but in some other Christmas is not a celebrated holiday.

Everywhere, however, we feel the pleasure of being close to our loved ones and telecommunications can bring virtually close also those separated by geographical distance. And communications is bringing all culture closer to share understanding and the aspiration of peace and well being.
