The FCC, Federal Communications Commission, has approved the radio spectrum from 2360 to 2400 MHz to be used on your body by medical equipment.
The network will link (usually) disposable sensors sticked on your body the can monitor vital signs. This is going to be very important taking into account an evolution of medicine,as expected in the last part of this decade, where drugs will be ever more personalized.
This will require monitoring the effects of drugs and possibly to control their release. In the coming years, in effect, the convergence of genomics (sequencing of every person genome + the construction of medicine to fit that genome) with sensors networks and data management will enable a different approach to health care, both in terms of prevention ( a certain genome can predispose to certain illness….) and cure (some cure can be more effective than others given that specific genome).
Telecommunications is likely to become an essential component of health care and well being. Basically, everything will be based on tele-medicine.
